SmartNet and the future of electricity markets in a low carbon economy
On 2 April in Stockholm, our Project Coordinator, Gianluigi Migliavacca participated in the public workshop of the International Smart Grid Action Network (ISGAN), an important day of reflection and debate in which “flexibility” had a major role.
The event focused on sharing international experiences and lessons learned, with emphasis on the importance of market design in relation to the following key aspects of power systems transformation and smart grid development;
- New market opportunities enabled by digitalization of the power sector
- Flexibility and power system interaction and optimization leveraged by smart grid solutions
- Innovative regulatory approaches to advance smart grids deployment with focus on experimental sandboxes

Moreover, the SmartNet Project participated in the last BRIDGE meeting (12-13 February 2019) and in the EU Networks project clustering meeting (19 February) at the European Commission in Brussels.
And we look forward to meeting you all in Arona, Italy for our conclusive project meeting!
